“Mr. October” is Teddy Rodriguez. This Silky Terrier named for Teddy Roosevelt turns
four this month. He lives in Shady Acres with his dad, James Rodriguez. Silky Terriers
really do feel like silk and they are also sensitive to sounds. Teddy does not like big
trucks or motorcycles and believes that the best defense is a good offense. Teddy
lives for his walks. He likes to be in charge and chose his own route. He is also a real
sniffer and the star of his neighborhood. Teddy is also quite the athlete. He loves his
soccer ball and kicks it around the house. When his Daddy plays along Teddy becomes
the goalie defending a doorway. Teddy operates his body like a machine—when he
takes off on a run he likes to peel out and he does wheelies to communicate a need or
a desire. Teddy is very protective of his castle after all, he is the King. He’s the King of
