All Star Pet for September is Max Granberry
who lives with his Mom, Lisa, in Oak Forest.
He lived in cages for the first eight years of his life, so
watching him learn to enjoy the freedom of a home and
backyard has been quite a treat.
He is now 11 and continues to show his joy for life. Max's
favorite activities are to run around the back yard
(whether it be patrolling or running for sheer pleasure),
playing with his toys (he carries them around with him
more than anything), going for walks, sleeping on the sofa
(versus his beds), or sitting in the front yard watching the
world go by.
Most of all though, Max LOVES people. If just the least bit
of attention is shown him, he returns it ten-fold. The
excitement and joy expressed in his face (and wiggly body)
when he sees or hears someone with whom he is familiar,
says it all. He can’t wait to greet them and show them
affection; it is as if he is making up for all the years he
didn’t get to share his love.
