Thank you Garden Oaks for your tremendous response and efforts during our
neighborhood donation drive conducted on Labor Day. We collected a mountain of
pet supplies which was delivered to the Houston SPCA.
According to the ASPCA, rescue crews in Hurricane Katrina affected areas have been
pleasantly surprised to find the animals in relatively good condition, having been left
adequate supplies by their fleeing owners. As New Orleans animals are brought to the
staging area in Gonzales, LA, they are being photographed by Cajun Clicker Computer
Organization to expedite reuniting them with their families. www.petfinder.com is
hosting the database of information on these displaced pets. Many pets have been
reunited with their families however they are still taking in more pets than they are
releasing to families.
